🌄 TRUTHPULSE: One Step at a Time
Anchored on the Ute Trail, climbing Aspen Mountain
Written beside the Colorado River, where the current whispers surrender
Shared for every soul in the climb
Scripture for today:
Psalm 37:23–24 (NLT)
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”
💬 The Story Behind This
I hiked to the top of Aspen Mountain this morning. It was steep, hot, rocky, and honestly, hard. More than 3000 feet in less than 3 miles. But it became so much more than a physical hike—it became a soul hike. The kind we’re all on in one way or another.
As I climbed, I whispered a mantra I’d shared with my daughter yesterday as we hiked a tough trail together on our first day at altitude:
‘One step at a time. I can do this.
One step at a time. I can do this.’
Those words ended up carrying me more than any muscle could. And as I reached the top, I realized—this wasn’t just about elevation. It was about living.
And living doesn’t require perfection. It just asks for presence.
🤍 For Anyone in a Climb Right Now
Whether you’re:
battling illness
facing burnout
walking through grief
trying to love your body
chasing a dream that feels so far off
or simply trying to get through today…
I want you to know: I get it.
I’m with you. Beside you. One step at a time.

🕊️ What I Learned on the Mountain
The mountain always looks bigger from below. The air gets thinner when fear speaks louder than faith. But strength doesn’t come from arriving at the top— It comes from choosing to keep going even when it hurts.
And most of all:
You don’t have to wait until you’re healed, fixed, thinner, stronger, or “better” to love yourself.
You can love yourself right now.
Because “love from others is warm.
But loving yourself?
That’s like having the sun inside of you.”
(Those were words from the book “Worthy “by Jamie Kern Lima that I was listening to on my hike. See the link below.)

🌀 Mantras to Carry
Speak these aloud. Whisper them when it’s hard. Write them down if you need to.
“One step at a time. I can do this.” “I love being me—right here, right now.” “I don’t need to see the summit. I just need to stay on the path.” “Every step I take is already enough.”
🌊 A Blessing from the River
This evening, right now, I sit beside the Colorado River.
As I watch the water flow—steady, unstoppable.
It reminds me:
This moment will never come again.
This breath. This heartbeat. This chance to choose grace over pressure.
We are never in the same current twice.
So if you need a reset, a release, or just a reason to keep going—
let this be it:
You are right where you need to be.
You are about to be right where you need to be next. You will never be exactly here again, and you have never been exactly here before.
And you are not alone.

📖 The Message I Personally Received Today:
“You climbed the mountain one step at a time—
just like you’ve been climbing your whole life.
With each breath thinner than the last,
with your heart pounding in your chest,
you kept going.
But this time, something new, an experience deeper than some of the others.
This wasn’t just about reaching the top—
this was about learning to love yourself with every single step.
Not the version of you that’s already healed, already “there”.
Not the version of you that’s fitter, stronger, more “together.”
But the you who is already worthy.
The one walking, listening, holding the leash,
sweating under the sun and still learning and choosing to say:
‘I love being me.’
The mountain asks for perseverance.
The river you sit in front of now is asks for release.
And you give them both.
And still, the truest miracle was in the way you spoke to yourself—
soft, steady, satisfied.
‘I am enough right now.’
‘I love being me.’”

Truths and thoughts to Carry Onward
• “One step at a time. I can do this.”
• “I don’t need to be more—I already am.”
• “Love from others is warm. Loving myself is like the sun inside of me.”
• “This water, this moment, this breath—they will never pass this way again.”
• “I love being me.”

💧 River Reflection Blessing
As the river carries the past away,
may you sit in the now and know:
what is in front of you is enough.
You are not the water that’s gone.
You are not the water yet to come.
You are the soul learning to float
right here, in this stream of being.
